Rainbow Mountain full day hike – Imperial Service  The Rainbow Mountain of Peru, also known as Winicunca, is stunning and can be seen on the spectacular Ausangate area. This trip that allows you to see the Rainbow Mountains requires a trek of at least 6 hours (3 hours each way up and down the mountain) . On this trek you will see quaint villages, beautiful adobe style houses, herds of llamas and alpacas and you will have magnificent views of the Ausangate Mountain (6,385 m / 20,945 ft.), the highest mountain in Cusco region.

We will pick you up between 04:00 am to 04:30 am. Then we are going to set out on a drive through the South Valley. The drive takes around 2 hours to get cusipata vallage where we are going to stop for breakfast.  Then we are going to drive you one  more hour to starting point (4,326 m / 14,189 ft.), where we are going to start with the hike of one hour and a half approximately to the view of the rainbow mountain. In the way up we are going to be able to enjoy amazing landscapes of herds of alpacas and llamas, the Ausangate Mountain, many red mountains and local people. When we finally reach our goal the Rainbow Mountains (5,200 m / 16,686 ft.), you will have time to explore the area and take pictures. We will spend approximately 30 minutes (depending of your walking speed and weather conditions). After the view of the rainbow mountain we will start going down back to the starting point of the hike for one hour. Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca, is a stunning peak near Cusco, Peru, famous for its vibrant, mineral-rich colors. Located at 5,200 meters (17,060 ft) in the Andes' Ausangate Region, it attracts hikers and nature lovers worldwide. The area offers breathtaking views, cultural richness, and extreme weather conditions. The best time to visit is during the dry season (May–October), as the wet season (November–April) brings rain and cooler temperatures. Due to its high altitude and steep terrain, the hike is physically demanding. Travelers should acclimatize in Cusco for a few days, stay hydrated, wear proper gear, and join guided tours for safety.
